Africa - Asia Collaboration Meeting on 2008.6.17 in Seoul (DRAFT MINUTES)

1. Candidate Areas
   We need to investigate what areas we may want to collaborate first.
 
    1.1 Research and Education Network
                   Interconnection 

    1.2 Research and Development
                IPv6(Deployment, R&D,...)
                Future Internet(Wireless Networking, DTN,...)

                   Measurement
                   Security
    1.3 Applications
                   Remote Education

2. Format  
    Joint Workshop(and/or Meetings)
                  Annually in Africa(during AFNOG or AfriNIC)
                  Annually in Asia(during APAN) and/or during global meetings such as CCIRN.

3. Initial Setup
    Initial workshop(half day) with coordination meeting during 2008 Fall AfriNIC Meeting 
    in November to investigate collaboration need and collaboration areas. The candidate date is 
    2008.11.12 Wednesday(Meeting in Morning, Workshop in Afternoon, and Dinner in Evening).

    The second workshop in late May during AfNOG/AfREN in Cairo may finalize on the initial collaboration. 

4. Participants
    4.1 Africa
         Members of African organizations such as  AFNOG, AfriNIC, and AfREN

    4.2 Asia
         APAN
         Leading R&E network organizations in Asia including CERNET in China and WIDE in Japan

    4.3 Others
         We may invite  R&E organizations in west Asia(Middle East) for May Meeting in Cairo.


Remark:  AfriNIC Meeting in Addis Ababa might have been delayed by two weeks to 2008.11.22-28
         (from the original schedule of 2008.11.8~14).
         If this is the case, we need to review on the meeting date.  We requested on Addis Ababa 
         Meeting date in 2008.11(AfriNIC), and Cairo Meeting in late May of 2009(AfNOG, AfREN, AfriNIC).
